Hello, my name is Candice.

I have been a reading-crazed bookworm for as long as I can remember.  While other kids were collecting toys, I was collecting books.  When other kids were asking for bunk beds in their rooms, I was asking for bookshelves. Which is all to say, I have always chosen the path less traveled.

I love food, and I am exceptionally lucky to live in a city where there are more amazing culinary possibilities than I can keep up with.  I adore wine and finding all the ways it can completely surprise my palate. Wine is an ever evolving adventure, and Iā€™m on a quest to test all the (grape enhanced) waters.

I love to spend time with my friends, who light up my life in very real ways.  Coffee is key to my personal success. My heart bursts wide open for all animals, especially the three that live in my house with me.

I am deeply passionate when it comes to exploring creativity and design, and discovering new ways to incorporate color and texture into my very minimalist aesthetic. I have trained professionally in yoga & meditation, because I love the practices. I live with my wonderful partner who doesn't always understand my obsession with reading, but who makes a terrific Instagram husband nonetheless.  I work full time as a facilitator and project management consultant which is a fancy way of saying I am a professional jack of all trades.

But it is reading that is my truest love; it is my favorite way to unplug and unwind.  I can never name my favorite author because there are too many talented people that have rocked my world through literature.  I do, however, have an exceptional soft spot for Hemingway, and those are the works that I most often return to over and over again.

My most-read genre of choice includes mysteries and psychological thrillers, followed closely by literary fiction and memoirs, but I will read virtually anything that sounds interesting and piques my interest.

I started this blog because of my love for books, talking about books, writing about books, connecting with other book-obsessed humans and really needing a place to keep all of my work together.

I have made so many incredible friends in the Instagram community, and I hope that this blog will become an extension of those relationships.  Of course, I will also use this blog to shamelessly work towards my new personal life goal of becoming one of those quoted review blurbs in the beginning of a novel.

If you are interested in collaborating with me in any capacity, please connect with me via my submission page on the blog or email me at csawchuk22@gmail.com.

Thank you for coming to hang out with me on my little corner of the internet.  Don't be a stranger.
