When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger
Happy book birthday to @laurenweisberger for the very, very funny and fun sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
This book is literally the PERFECT SUMMER READ. It is an absolute delight, and pairs perfectly with a patio and a fruity, cold glass of wine (or vodka soda if you want to be like Emily).
The story picks back up with Emily working as a celebrity crisis manager - and stuck out in the suburbs, which is her own personal version of hell. She is visiting her old friend Miriam, who is working hard at acclimatizing to the suburban mom life, when THE celebrity crisis of the month falls directly in her lap in the form of Karolina Hartwell - the wife of a local senator who has been accused of driving drunk with children in her vehicle - a charge she vehemently denies. Emily finds herself wading in the newest territory yet - suburban marriage drama.
Emily is just as delightfully sarcastic and blunt as she ever was, making this the most satisfying sequel for a character I adore. Plus, Miranda makes an appearance (or two).
This book is such a magnificent look at female friendships and how those bonds are the ones that endure through all that life throws at you.
Which is all to say, definitely go get a copy of this book, your summer won't be complete without it.
Happy Tuesday!!! ☀️☀️☀️
