I cannot tell you how incredible this book is. It is so, SO good ya'll, I have read this TWICE since getting ahold of it. It will devour you and you are not going to be able to put it down. So get your wine stockpiled and clear your schedule because you are in for a treat.
Lucy is a young, beautiful girl who decides to move across the country to attend college in California - the farthest possible spot away from her mother, who she holds a long standing grudge against. She jumps right in, finding her own group of amazing college friends, crazy college parties, and the perfect courses to get her to her dream journalism job.
Until she meets Stephen DeMarco - cocky, arrogant, and slightly odd - Lucy can't help it when she finds herself falling for his peculiar charm. Except that being with Stephen comes with a waterfall of consequences.
Carola has done an absolutely spot-on, tremendous job of capturing the intricacies and intimacies of an addictive, broken relationship, and the humanity behind the pain of that type of love. The story moves effortlessly between Lucy and Stephen's points of view, and doesn't slow down for a second.
This book is as addictive as the relationship it brings to life. Every single person can relate to some part of this - we've all had our own Stephen's, or known someone who has. The story resonated so completely with me, I couldn't put it down. 100% must read for all you bookworms out there
