Sweet Little Lies by Caz Frear

Sweet Little Lies by Caz Frear

What. A. Terrific. Book. ☕️

Thank you @harpercollinsca for shooting me over this copy - you guys are knocking out amazing work this year! ☕️

I very much enjoyed this book. This is a bit of police procedural, a bit of mystery, a bit of suspense and some terrifically flawed characters, and the best part - it unwinds itself at the most perfect pace. This story is like an onion (to quote Shrek) with all of its layers, and before you know it your into the core of a wildly more complex story than you ever expected. ☕️

I have been completely enthralled with suspense stories that have a bit of slow burn behind them. I always think I’ll get bored in the beginning of them and then a twist smacks me in the head and I can’t put it down. ☕️

Quick synopsis: Detective Constable Cat Kinsella has left her troubled childhood and broken relationship with her father behind - until she finds herself investigating a murder of a young woman named Alice, a woman who seems to be linked to another missing girl from decades before - a disappearance Cat has long suspected her father was involved with. Suddenly Cat finds herself plunged deeper into a mystery that has haunted her entire life - a mystery that has every ability to tear apart her new life. ☕️

I can’t talk too much about this book without taking away the magic of the twisting road it goes on, but I can say that if you want that perfect mix of mystery/drama/crime to curl up with this winter, then this should make the way to the top of your list. ☕️

Happy Saturday y’all! ☕️
