BOOK REVIEW: Girls Like Us by Cristina Alger
Cristina Frickin Alger. You devious little author minx. WHAT A BOOK!
I am a LONG TIME fan of @cristina.alger - I would seriously read anything this woman writes. Give me her grocery list, I’m sure it will have a twist at the end I couldn’t have seen coming. I remain convinced The Bankers Wife is the most underrated book of last year. Seriously guys, if you love a good thriller, please order all of Cristina’s books as a starting point.
Girls Like Us delivered on the slow burn, intense, bad-shit is going down vibe that I’ve come to love from Cristina. Culminating in a crazy last third of the book that takes off like a rocket, blows up all your expectations for the story and leaves you REELING. I had full intentions of savouring this one, but no. No no. I ended up devouring that last third like a drowning man desperate for air. So. Damn. Good.
Y’all know I don’t do in depth thriller reviews or spoilers, but good heavens friends, get this one on your summer TBR. This is PERFECT summer reading. Complex characters, tense mystery, a plot that will suck you in. The exact recipe to spend the ideal sunny summer afternoon as a bookworm.
Thank you again to @penguinrandomca for sharing a copy of this one with me. 5 glorious 🌟’s for this one!
Happy Friday y’all! Come by and tell me your favourite underrated book!
