Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I write about books, food, wine and travel.

Self Care Sunday

Self Care Sunday

As I mentioned before - the last week was a really trying week for me personally.  It was one of those weeks where crap moments, and small things just slowly seemed to pile up on me, and I couldn't shake it.  I'm not one to wallow in the negative, and I usually try to make a point to force myself out of those downward spirals - but this week I gave in a bit to the vibe of the week, and let myself experience it for what it was.

And then yesterday, I embraced the weekend - I acknowledged the week for what it was, let myself have a moment to pout about it, and made the conscious decision to let it all go.  I don't want to dwell on it, or overthink it, or sulk about it.  It wasn't my favorite week, but its also over, and honestly, it can only get more positive from here.  I shook it off and decided to start having more fun.

Yesterday (of course) didn't start perfectly for me. I had one more small personal hurdle to get over - but even with that, it ended up being a great day.  A day where I got to read, drink coffee, hang out with my better half and my pets, go out for dinner, see a movie that I have been impatiently waiting for (The Spy Who Dumped Me, with Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon - and YES it is as good as you are hoping it will be!) with my friends and got some much needed rest.

Which leads me to today.  Sunday.  In my world Sunday is for doing all the things you love most, and catching up on your bookish life.  Today I am going to continue to embrace the change in direction in my mood, and my vibe and my energy and have a GREAT day.  A spontaneous day of fun, and choosing to do things that make me happy, as they come to me.  Of not stressing over the small things, or worrying about the big things.  Of taking the day for me, for self care, for rest, for rejuvenation.  Because I can only be a happy, caring, positive human when I take care of me first.

I hope you are all taking some time this weekend to start August off with some self love and positive vibes. If you need me I’ll be right here, in my happy place. 💜

Happy #socksunday you gorgeous creatures!
