January TBR Snapshot
📚 Things I’m Reading January Edition 📚
Somehow this isn’t even my ENTIRE TBR, so heaven only knows how I’m going to find the time to finish them all. But I figure I should START my reading year shooting for the stars, so here we go. 😂
Many thanks to the tagged publishers and authors for the copies. And for directly supporting my desire to stay in all winter by a fire reading. Not adulting. Living the dream. 😉
As you can see, I have lots of thrillers teed up this month, which is perfect as I LOVE psychological thrillers and I honestly can read them faster than anything else.
Freefall by Jessica Barry is one I have already burned through - it hit stores yesterday, and while I have a full review coming, the short recommendation is, this is a book that you want on YOUR TBR, without question.
Friends Like These by Sarah Alderson is the one I am reading right now, and guys - HOLY HELL. It is FLYING and the twists have smashed me in the face before Part 1 even ended. It is gooooood. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. This beauty was released in December, and I am preemptively saying you are probably going to want to go ahead and get a copy of this one.
Famous Men Who Never Lived by K Chess is one sent to me by the lovely peeps at Tin House as part of their Galley Club and sounds SO INTRIGUING. Its set in a parallel universe New York after a nuclear war. If that isn’t enough to perk your interest…..😉 This one is releasing in March, and I’m excited to dive in and share my thoughts with you all.
My Awfully Wedded Husband by Minerva Stewart is a comedy novel (which is clearly much needed when you read as many thrillers as I do…..I mean I need to be able to sleep at night SOMEHOW). This one is out, and I am excited to check it out. Minerva sent me a copy over Christmas, and can I just say how LOVELY she is? LOVELY.
And finally, in this pile, All Men Are Assholes (And All Women Are Crazy) by Jordan West which is going to be a story full of sass, I can just feel it. I’m really excited about this one too, as I have seen it popping up all over and getting rave reviews.
Whew! Just a peek at what I have on the go. I am so ready to take on this new reading year!
QOTD: Do you plan out what you are trying to read in a month? Or do you wing it? I’m somewhere in the middle of knowing what ARCs I have due, but also, I’m a mood reader. And come hell or high water this year, I WILL read my way through some of my unread shelf. I’m gonna need to win a lottery soon, so I can retire. 😂
Happy humpday friends! 💜
