The Kingfisher Secret by Anonymous
YOU GUYS. THIS BOOK.
I cannot express loudly enough how much I think this particular book should be on literally every book lovers TBR this winter. This book is MIND BOGGLING good - and exceptionally terrifying. 💥
Synopsis: Her code name is Kingfisher. Her mission: to seduce and marry a man of wealth and political influence. Now she must protect a terrifying secret. 💥
October 2016: In America, the election is a few weeks away. Journalist Grace Elliott is sent to Europe where she discovers a story so big, so explosive that it could decide the American election and launch a new Cold War. As long as she can stay alive long enough to tell it. 💥
This story is based on one of biggest conspiracies around right now, Russian influence in the world, but more specifically on the current US election and president - and OH MY GOD GUYS - if any of this is true (which much of it seems wildly probable and is backed up by existing proof) it is WILD to consider. Mind blowing, insanely, WILD. 💥
No lies, after reading this I immediately fell into a black hole of internet researching and reading additional articles, papers and Wiki pages. The basis for this story is seeped in ACTUAL documented fact - and when you start looking at those documented facts, it is almost baffling how much of this IS public information and how much has not really been reported on until now. 💥
I was sucked RIGHT INTO this and you will be too. It’s impossible to put down. With an added layer of suspense as the author of this book is being kept entirely anonymous. The only author tag on this book reads “The author of this book is a respected writer and former journalist. His identity is being kept secret in order to protect the source of the ideas that inspired this novel.” Of course, I initially suspected this of being a really clever marketing ploy - but no, this too you can find articles on, the CEO of Penguin Random House discussing how they are truly and honestly holding the identity secret for safety purposes. Quite frankly I would assume the CEO has better things to do than assist with a marketing ploy, and this starts to ring a little more true. 💥
I don’t want to spoil even one page of this for you, but PLEASE go read it and then come here so we can discuss this, because, HOLY HANNAH. 💥
QOTD: What is your stance on conspiracy theories? I honestly find them fascinating - all the more when there is evidence to back them up! 💥
Thank you so much @penguinrandomca for the copy!!
