Sock Sunday & Book Club Reads
Is there anything better than a Sunday where you don’t have anything on the agenda other than reading and relaxing? Trick question. No, there is not. 📚☕️
My house is delightfully quiet today, and I had such a crazy, productive day yesterday, which means today is all about the chill vibes. 📚☕️
This is sometimes an anomaly for me since I generally, USUALLY end up putting off weekend errands or tasks, because it feels sacrilegious to be working on down days. However, Saturday morning I finished a book I was reading, and I always want some down time between reads. Which left me with free hours that I managed to flip into action.
I would love to make that into more of a routine actually. It felt really satisfying to get some reading in, but to also get some tasks crossed off my list. Reading tasks included - i got fully caught up on writing reviews and photographing books for the blog. I managed to burn through responding to emails, and even threw in a few computer breaks so I could turbo-clean my house. All topped off with spending Saturday night watching my nephew play in a soccer game (OH HOW WILD MY WEEKENDS ARE).
Which adds up to NOTHING to do today. Nothing but which my heart most desires.
To start, I’m diving into our January @northernlightsreads pick, which has been getting rave reviews (and you have time to join us before our chat & cocktail hour on Jan 27th). The Gown has recently been featured in People Magazine, and is beginning to break into bestseller charts. Quite frankly I am NOT surprised - this book is the perfect combination to capture any bookworm’s attention.
Next on the agenda, it’s FINALLY a bit warmer today, so Vinny is going to get lots of yard time to run around (my poor little snow dog has been LOATHING the cold snap). Outside of this weird, pollution fog that is marring the day ever so slightly, I am still excited to get outside and soak up some sunshine for a few hours. Winter can be absolutely horrible for me getting enough fresh air, sunshine and connection to nature, so I will take what I can get!
And last but not least, I’m going to spend an hour in a delicious, sweaty yoga flow. Stretch out the soreness that comes from a week of weight training. Perrrrrrrfection. 📚☕️
Unrelated, but kinda related, stay tuned to this space for a fun announcement later on! 😉
QOTD: Tell me my friends, what does your perfect Sunday look like? 📚☕️
Happy #socksunday y’all. 😘
