Happy Sock Sunday & Super Blood Wolf Moon Day!

Happy Sock Sunday & Super Blood Wolf Moon Day!

I have been KILLING IT on burning through my January TBR this weekend (thank you icy cold for keeping me in hermit mode!) and I’m going to spend some time this morning with this beauty that @tin_house sent over for me (thanks guys!). 💜

This book looks DEEPLY intriguing and I think it might turn into one of those couldn’t-put-it-down-till-it-was-done scenarios. But this is a risk I am willing to take! 😂

Wherever Hel looks, New York City is both reassuringly familiar and terribly wrong. As one of the thousands who fled the outbreak of nuclear war in an alternate United States—an alternate timeline—she finds herself living as a refugee in our own not-so-parallel New York. The slang and technology are foreign to her, the politics and art unrecognizable. While others, like her partner Vikram, attempt to assimilate, Hel refuses to reclaim her former career or create a new life. Instead, she obsessively rereads Vikram’s copy of The Pyronauts—a science fiction masterwork in her world that now only exists as a single flimsy paperback—and becomes determined to create a museum dedicated to preserving the remaining artifacts and memories of her vanished culture.

But the refugees are unwelcome and Hel’s efforts are met with either indifference or hostility. And when the only copy of The Pyronauts goes missing, Hel must decide how far she is willing to go to recover it and finally face her own anger, guilt, and grief over what she has truly lost.

Meanwhile, it’s finally warmed up again today which means I can venture out to partake in the human world once again. First up on the agenda is letting Vinny the Snow Dog out for several hours of rolling in the snowbanks. I’m going to fashion myself a snow chair, bring my hot chocolate with me and get some much needed Vitamin D while he gets some much needed entertainment. 💜

Second on the agenda is a brunch date with my better half, because we haven’t been out at all this weekend. 💜

Third is getting ready for the Super Blood Wolf Moon tonight. I love a good full moon. I love a good eclipse. More than anything, I love the energy that these events bring into my world. While I don’t go over the top for a full moon eclipse event, I WILL spend some time today meditating on the things I am ready to release in my life, and the things I am ready to invite in. There is no time like the present to be asking for more positive energy to keep this year running in the right direction. Plus I’m super grateful that its really warm tonight, which makes for the perfect environment to hang out outside and bask in the free magical beauty of the universe. 💜

But first - enjoying the quiet of #socksunday morning when everyone is calm, cuddly and interested in letting me drink my tea in peace. 😉

QOTD: Do you like outside winter activities? Or do you avoid the snow like the plague? I love being outside provided I am suited up with hand and feet warmers and hot beverages. There are so many cool winter activities in my city so it seems like a shame to pass them up! ❄️❄️❄️

Happy Sunday y’all! May your days be relaxing and filled with happiness. 💜
